The Pool NYC’s website is a great exaple of why sometimes less is more.

The Pool NYC is an itinerant contemporary art gallery, and were referred to me by friends at designlab, because they know I make sites built on content management systems.

The Pool NYC wanted to put up a gallery site to show the work in five upcoming exhibitions and wanted the ability to easily show or hide images depending on their availability.

After out initial consultation, it was clear that a full-blown CMS would have been overkill.  What The POOL NYC really needed was a simple and sweet site with just a few features and a super-minimal design.

We decided on a hosted solution that gave the gallery lots of flexibility and a very slight learning curve.

Some of the features of www.thepoolnyc.com:

mulitple artist galleries with autosized thubnails

automatically created navigation tabs

easily edited pages

contact form

embedded Google map

easy upload of new images
