CreakyJoints.org
community portal for non-profit organization
Creakyjoints is a non-profit organization dedicated to arthritis sufferers and healthcare professionals.
They were looking to overhaul their existing site, which had to be written in raw HTML by staff at the office. They needed something that would take care of the behind-the-scenes code so they could focus on writing actual content and growing the community.
During our consultations, we developed a plan to expand and reorganize sections of their site to group and clarify how articles, media and blogs were being presented. What Creakyjoints needed were all the things a content management system provides: security, membership, workflows, multiple authors, site search, dynamic navigation, widgets, and universal accessibility.
Built on open-source Plone CMS, the new www.creakyjoints.org features the following:
many authors and blogs
member sign up and log in
permissions-based workflows for authors and members
keyword tagging and searching
full RSS feeds throughout the site
quick and advanced site search
newsletter distribution
discussion forums with commenting
widgets
automatic site map
saveable smart folders
full accessibility compliance with US Section 508
